Search Engine is a software that works along with the Internet, where any term is mentioned in the search bar and the results are shown according to the term given. Examples of Search Engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc.

Search Term is a word or a phrase that is typed in the search bar of that search engine and relevant results are shown.

  1. Niche

Niche is the area of specific interest or a segment of a huge market, you like to start your business or a website. A Vegan and Dairy-free food restaurant for vegan lovers is an example of a niche.

  1. Conversions

A conversion happens when a user completes an action or a desired goal in any website. It can be filling a form, purchasing a product, subscribing to a newsletter, etc.

  1. Backlinks

A Backlink is a link which is found in a website when clicked leads you to another website or any other web resource (News, Blogs, videos etc.). E.g.A lot of backlinks can be created through guest blogs by promoting your own business or website.

  1. Hyperlink

Hyperlinks can be a word or a sentence which is highlighted in blue and underlined, that can lead you to an image, website, or document.

  1. Inbound Marketing

Inbound Marketing is an online way of marketing and advertising products or services to customers. This gives a pull approach as the customers are attracted to these advertisements. The customers make an initiative to buy a product or a service. Eg Blogs, Social Media, E-newsletters, etc.

  1. Content

Content can be of any form which can attract any audience in the internet. It has to be unique, attractive, and engaging. Content can be of various types which are Articles podcasts videos, webinars, e-books, etc.

A Keyword is a word or a phrase used by advertisers to target their organic and paid campaigns when someone types it on the Search engine bar.

A landing page also called a destination page. When a user first clicks on a link and then lands on a certain page on a website. It’s an important term in Inbound Marketing.

  1. Segmentation

In digital marketing, segmentation means dividing a set of audiences into small different groups that help advertisers in creating their campaign Ads.

  1. Targeting

Targeting in digital marketing means you have a set of audience in mind to market your products or services which matches the audience preferences.  It’s segmented into smaller audiences from a large group of audiences.

  1. Return on Investment (ROI)

In digital marketing return on investment, means returns earned for every campaign you create. When you invest in a certain amount of money in your campaign, the result shows whether it is a profit or a loss.

  1. Indexing

Indexing is organising the information after crawling and is displayed on the Search Engine Results Page.

  1. Ranking

The ranking is the position given to those results that were indexed and then appear on the Search Engine Results Page.

  1. Crawling

Crawling happens when a search term is mentioned on the Search engine bar, it crawls or checks for webpages to be shown while indexing.

  1. Leads

In digital marketing, leads are when a customer takes an interest or a liking to any of the products or services a company offers.

  1. SERP

SERP is also known as the Search Engine Results Page. Appears when a user searches for a term in the search engine and shows the results on this page.
