Batting first against Mumbai Indians in a match of IPL 2021 – 20 cricket tournament, Chennai Super Kings scored a mammoth score of 218 runs losing 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

Mumbai won the toss and invited Chennai to bat, with opener Rituraj Gaikwad hitting a four in the very first over to catch Hardik Pandya off Trent Boult. After this, Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali jointly took the innings.

He provided a strong base for Chennai by sharing 108 runs for the second wicket by 10.5 overs. This partnership was broken by Jaspreet Bumrah by getting Moeen Ali caught by Quinton de Kock. Moin Ali scored 58 runs in 36 balls with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Faf du Plessis was also dismissed early after this. He scored 50 runs in 28 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes. Suresh Raina was caught by Kunal Pandya at the score of 2 runs by Kunal Pandya. The duo contributed significantly to take Chennai’s score to 218 by sharing a 102-run 48-ball partnership. Rayudu was in full form today, scoring an unbeaten 62 from 25 balls with the help of three fours and 6 sixes.

Jadeja remained unbeaten on 22 runs with the help of two fours in 22 balls. Pollard took two wickets for Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult from Mumbai.
